 There was a talk given some years ago by a representative of Telstra
(at that time possibly not called by that name).   In essence there will
be no great profits in the telecommunications business and that the
future lies in the delivery of content...

 In those days Telstra had a monopoly on Telephone calls in Australia
and to call the United Kindom cost somewhere in the region of over $2
per minute.

 I note one can now purchase prepaid calling cards from Seven/11 and
other outlets marketed by a company called Unidial.  One calls a local
number from the capital cities of Australia and then by entering the
card number the cost is some 9 cents per minute ( with a flagfall of
69cents for establishing the connection)....

 I now have a Telstra prepaid mobile.  I can call the United States from
it for 34 cents per minute.  I can call Australia from it for 70 cents
per minute.

 Make sense of that if you can.... :-)
