At the Connecting Government Forum at Internet World in June
<http://www.tomw.net.au/gf2k/> I thought I would say something about
national policy for disabled access to government information. A grounding
in information policy might help this, but I can't find much.

Barry Jones, now Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Information Technology,
Monash University wrote 14 April 1999 "The Information Revolution in
Australia its impact on politics, the economy and society", :
http://www.fcit.monash.edu.au/BarryJones/BarryJones1.html

>... in 1982 the ALP National Conference adopted a National Information
Policy ...
>In 1985, after a series of policy seminars, the Department of Science
>prepared a discussion paper A National Information Policy for Australia...
>The Committee's first report, published in May 1991, was entitled Australia
>as an Information Society: Grasping New Paradigms...

This is all very interesting, but can anyone find any of these documents? I
can't. Are they worth looking at?

>No major Australian party has a National Information Policy.

Any around?
