It has been pointed out to me that what I was trying to say is about as
clear as black writing on black paper in a room with no lights at midnight.

To clarify:

The point was that (in my opinion) the digital divide should be of a lower
priority than many other things, not the least of which is the way many
societies treat women. I would rather see the world community attack such
issues as the suppression of women (as in the Taliban's denial of their
education) and female genital mutilation than enrich a few IT manufacturers
and consultants.

Napolean's view is not a thing of the past. In some parts of the world it
still exists.
