WEBTV ACCESS SLASHED
Fearing increased competition from AOL, Microsoft is now offering its
WebTV Internet access for free for two months. You get it (worth $50) if
you buy a $199 WebTV Plus set-top box. Microsoft bought WebTV in 1997,
and has about 1 million subscribers. America Online is set to launch AOL
TV in a few months, and has high hopes of its new service.
