Workers sacked for abuse of e-mail
By ANDREA CARSON
Wednesday 1 March 2000
In a nationwide crackdown on staff use of e-mail, a government body,
Centrelink, has sacked six Adelaide call centre employees for allegedly
misusing the electronic messaging system.
The statutory authority, which assists and refers job-seekers to the job
network, monitors all incoming and outgoing e-mails of its 23,000 employees.
They monitor ALL? incoming and outgoing email of 23,000 people? What a
boring job that would be! And I wonder if people sending email to the
people at centrelink realise their communications are being monitored as
well? I guess we all do now.
