For the Week Ending June 16, 2000
DIGITAL SIGNATURES ON THE VERGE
After months of bitter partisan struggling, legislation is about
to make digital signatures completely legal. This bill will allow
businesses and consumers to conduct financial transactions around
the clock. Earlier this morning the Senate passed the bill, it will
now be sent to the President who has already publicly stated that he
will sign this legislation. Once signed, digital signatures will be
legally valid on October 1.
