I find there are three types of email respondents on the Net:
(A) those who treat an email as sacredly as they would a personally
delivered message, or as perhaps they would a message on their
answering machine, and respond in a timely manner;
(B) those who obviously have read your message, but either fail to respond
or respond way too late; and
(C) those who who are actually just bit buckets and send the email to
oblivion.
(A) group consists mainly of friends, reliable business partners
and academics.
(B) group consists of slack b**t**ds, people who secretly don't like you,
and those who don't really understand email.
(C) consists of e-commerce sites, marketing droids, sales people and
telephone sanitisers.
