Gosh that's simple! (Generalised for simplicity.)
Men normally have a logical mind frame. Women tend to have a more
illogical mind frame. (Might have something to do with brain shrinkage from
pregnancy??)
Men are totally useless when it comes to management of money. Women are
awesome at managing budgets.
How many men do you know can successfully run a household, manage the Wife,
kids, cleaning, making lunches and dinners, keep everyone on time and on
track?
How many women do you know seem to magically juggle the above with ease and
gracefulness? (And a few tears?)
IT Development is mostly a male styled logical process. Business
Management is mostly an emotional process. It's hard to always be
passionate about your business operation if you are male, your concern is
to get the work done (and in Australia get down to the pub for a
beer.) Where as a Women tends to be more interested in the development and
nurturing of the business to see it reach it's full potential and at the
end of the day put her feet up and relax.
In my experience I've always found women tend to make the better business
managers and project supervisors. They don't need to know the HOW IT WORKS
intimately, just that it does work and that it's on time. Managing a bunch
of men is easy, especially with a little sex appeal :)
Men are technically drones. Women are mostly nurturers.
Society might be changing the primal instructiveness of these behaviors,
but the end result is confusion and lack of luster in the success of business.
Lets face it "Behind every successful man is a more successful woman."
So women should not be concerned they are dropping the logical process for
the more emotional process. In fact they should be pleased that their
abilities far exceed that of the average male where management and
presentation are concerned.
It's rare the roles are reversed and it does happen. Mostly caused by
extensive environmental exposure probably.
So Go Girl! Do your juggling act and keep the men folk in line!
