Mis-typing the RED lab for the RAD lab is cute! I doubt if Menzies would
have funded anything so suspicously subversive as a redlab.
I have a MIT Radlab publication from 1948, when they finally published
the work from 40-45. Its on 'three bar linkage computers' which are
analogue computational devices pre-dating the digital era, and do sums
by modelling real-world interactions as gears and levers. I wish I'd bought
the other 7 volumes on sale in the junkyard (it was many years ago)
A paperback recently published discusses the development of Radar, and the
impact it had on science worldwide, but especially Australia.
cheers
-George
