 The "mark" of the beast was clearly "www" (subject to numerous
misprints) and foretold of electronic commerce where no-one could trade
unless they have the mark of the "beast" on their forehead. :-)  .... um
refelctions of the "www" in the eyes of those at the terminal.

 The other day I went to pay my body corporate fees.  The office was
closed with a suggestion that one could pay via BPay on the Internet.  

 Another real estate agent was refusing to take cash...

 It's starting to make sense now :-)
