[LINK] ADSL to reign in Australia

The problem with this approach is that many ppl are connecting to ADSL and
cable with that evil OS and with no concept of security.  The result is
that they get breached, scanning software gets dropped on the box, scans
out to the rest of the 'net and we have to cop the traffic costs for this
scanning traffic.  There has been a marked increase in scanning traffic
for NETBIOS services since broadband, particularly ADSL, has been
available, and those sites that I have spoken with just do not have a
clue; "It's only the fax server, how did it get on there"; "It's only the
receptionist's computer, and she only uses it for word processing.  She
wouldn't know anything about scanning."; "What is scanning?"
