Former National party senator Bill O'Chee will launch an e-commerce project
for a Commonwealth government department that will process 1.5 per cent of
the government's $120 billion yearly transactions.
It is Mr O'Chee's first business venture since leaving politics in July
last year. Mr O'Chee, 36, who joins a long list of former politicians who
have started dotcom companies, will lead B2G.com, which claims it can
process electronic financial transactions more effectively than the
government's traditional banking methods.
"Within four weeks, we will have user-acceptance testing of a high volume
project for a government department," he said. "After the banks and
Telstra, we will be Australia's biggest payment gateway."
