There is a general explosion in number of XML based standards,
sometime overlaping one another, making system inter-operatability
very complicated.

The above article from xml.org, hosted by OASIS, which is home to
ebXML developement. It gives brief discription on the ebXML and UDDI
standards which have overlapped each other on business discovery
and directory services, registry and repository. Both ebXML and
UDDI share many supporters like IBM, SUN, Microsoft, etc. ebXML
apparently just has a successful conference in Tokyo. It is
interesting to see the article goes to some length on how the white,
yellow and green pages directory services from UDDI can be integrated
with ebXML. This is even more interesting especially after what
appeared
to be a lovers' guerrel a month ago,

Final Messaging Services Spec Due From ebXML
SOAP to play no part in OASIS/UN standard, expected out Nov. 6

UDDI is based on a suit of over 30 SOAP messages which enable
the business processes. Lets hope they will kiss and make-up.
