I have no objection to Open Source (having written some in my time), but
the term 'open source' is not a registered Trade Mark in
Australia. However, by using the letters 'tm', people could be claiming
common law protection for the term.

It is however registered in the USA (by Navant Corporation).

It is interesting to note that Linux is also not a Trade Mark in
Australia, or in the USA. However the term 'linux' is registered as a type
of soap product (making the world cleaner!)...

Yes yes yes and yes. But how does having something open source mean that
people will use it more? It might affect a certain class of user, but
surely it doesn't mean that the whole world will use it -- look at Linux
versus Windows.

Also, I know for my open source project I very rarely get peer review
happening... It is hard to tell if people use it at all... Perhaps they
don't.
