THE STUPID COUNTRY
A report from the OECD has ranked  Australia at the bottom of 18 Western
nations in the size of its information technology and communications sector.
Australia's output on IT and communications goods and services accounts for
4.1%, barely half the OECD average of 7.4%. The report, Science, Technology
and Industry Outlook 2000, provides new information on  the importance of
science and innovation in   economic performance.  See
