Ralph -- Yes. OTC was absorbed into Telstra ... this was part of the preparation
for competition; Aussat, the third entity in government telecommunications, was
then offered to the winning bidder (Optus).

So it was all over bar the namechange by 1992...

I had friends working for OTC (Paddington) circa 92.

IIRC Telstra was the combination of Telecom and OTC. Can anyone
confirm this? (and what was the timing vs TAA+Qantas = Qantas,
and the float of CBA? Were these all products of the Keating years?)
