The Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF) invites public comment
from industry and consumers on a recently released draft Industry Code -
* DR ACIF C564 Deployment of Radiocommunications Infrastructure
Industry Code
DR ACIF C564 provides for the adoption of a precautionary approach to the
siting, design and operation of telecommunications radio equipment by
suppliers. It establishes obligations for increased mandatory consultation
procedures for all facilities, and mandatory notification to Councils of all
facilities, including Low Impact Facilities.
The Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF) is an industry owned,
operated and resourced company established by the telecommunications
industry to implement and manage communications self-regulation within
Australia. Its primary role is to develop and administer Standards and
Industry Codes, and provide Industry Facilitation Services that promote both
the long-term interests of end-users and the efficiency and international
competitiveness of the Australian communications industry
