On Radio National right now, an American professor is discussing
"computer prions". These little beasties are like viruses, but nastier.
Infection can occur by simply opening an email. And the payload is
intended to run your harddrive and other hardware into oblivion.

Once again, one big problem: the learned professor failed to clearly
establish the following:

(a) that these so-called prions affect *only* Microsoft Windows systems

(b) that there are many alternatives to using such a dangerous system

Tsk, tsk. Surely he should know better. I know some computing lecturers at
Sydney universities, and they hardly give Microsoft the time of day, avoid
their products at all costs, refusing to teach or indoctrinate students with
MS's platform. Period. It's that simple: just say No! Good on 'em!
