I'm very intrigued by the statement that there is less risk in 
javascript than java. My understanding was that it was very much the 
other way around. 

Java was designed with a security sandbox and a java applet has very 
controlled access to the machine it is running on. 

Javascript has no security sandbox and can do a whole lot more to the 
machine it is run on. 

I have java disabled for the same reason as I disable images, its 
mostly a waste of bandwidth.

I have javascript disabled want because I don't want some web page 
developer running code on my computer just because I visit their web 
site.
