Heck with it, since I'm already in print: to my horror, when I hit Ctrl-U
during Internet banking, I discovered stuff like my account number and
detailed session information in the Javascript, in clear text.
And timing the download, I also infer that the Javascript is cacheable,
since it starts slower after I clear the cache.
I no longer use Internet banking...

I'm very intrigued by the statement that there is less risk in
javascript than java. My understanding was that it was very much the
other way around.
Java was designed with a security sandbox and a java applet has very
controlled access to the machine it is running on.
Javascript has no security sandbox and can do a whole lot more to the
machine it is run on.
I have java disabled for the same reason as I disable images, its
mostly a waste of bandwidth.
I have javascript disabled want because I don't want some web page
developer running code on my computer just because I visit their web
site.
