Your follow up effectively focusses your point to the much narrower
statement only a lawyer can give Legal Advice (capitals intended). No probs
with that, although, even there, it's rarely the definitive solution you
might think. Legal Advice can often be of the form: "Well, it depends...."

I guess the nub of this discussion is that your throw-away line was overly
broad, and had objectionable consequences.
