It's kind of pointless debating whether spam is or is not illegal --
spam is near-universally loathed regardless of its content, and the
sanctions against spam are far more effective than those against
either porn or hate speech.

I'm pretty sure the origin of that spam is somewhere in the US, where
hate speech such as the message in question is not itself illegal.
So if you want to take action, go to http://spamcop.net/ or somewhere
like that -- there's nothing you can do about it as hate speech.

Also, it is certainly *not* the case that pornography is illegal in
general, even in Australia.
