One wonders if the doll is male, female or comes with optional 
attachments to be either.

If this takes off  the ietf will have to work on an ISP - internet 
sex protocol - to control communication with these devices. Using 
this protocol between two dolls would no doubt satisfy the needs of 
voyeurs. Care would have to be taken with common internet technology 
to avoid confusion such as "socket connections", "The host is up", 
"unexpected disconnection", etc
