Well, www.microsoft.com anyway.
For the past few hours the microsoft.com name servers have been unreachable,
leaving http://*.microsoft.com, plus ftp, mail, etc, as well as a few
other MS domains, off the air.
Checking their name servers shows that all 4 are sitting (basically) on the
same bit of wire - all within the same class C :
microsoft.com nameserver = DNS7.CP.MSFT.NET
microsoft.com nameserver = DNS6.CP.MSFT.NET
microsoft.com nameserver = DNS4.CP.MSFT.NET
microsoft.com nameserver = DNS5.CP.MSFT.NET
Authoritative answers can be found from:
DNS7.CP.MSFT.NET internet address = 220.127.116.11
DNS6.CP.MSFT.NET internet address = 18.104.22.168
DNS4.CP.MSFT.NET internet address = 22.214.171.124
DNS5.CP.MSFT.NET internet address = 126.96.36.199
Hacked? Most likely not, but still just a little embarasing all the same...
