In Tony Barry's absence, can I plead that all responses to Stephen be
*off-list*.  (I've taken it on myself to do this, without *any* authority
at all, just because my beard's grey, and I wuz there when Tony started
link ...).

Every time this theme starts, we get 50 postings with varying mixes of
content and flame, and lose 20-30 linkers who perceive the noise-to-signal
ratio to have exploded.

Stephen might like to edit and post the more interesting bits in a single
email in a few days' time when the smoke clears.
