THIS WEEK: Proquest goes live

Proquest, a major addition to our service suite was launched on 1 January
2001
and is now available from our International Database Page.
Proquest provides convenient search and retrieval of 8,000 publications,
with many in full text and full image format.

The medical library combines MEDLINE indexing with more than 200 key medical
titles in subjects including nursing, pediatrics, neurology, pharmacology,
cardiology,physical therapy, and others.
Newspapers on Proquest include the major North American Daily's.
The research Library includes over 2,000 academic quality periodicals in a
wide range of subject areas.

Much like NewsText and Dialog Select, you only pay when you click on your
search results so ILANET members can easily evaluate how this resource can
serve their needs.

Information about the databases available and individual titles can be
found at:

http://www.umi.com/cgi-bin/TitleForm

2. Informit Online

RMIT Publishing and ILANET are pleased to announce that we will offer
Informit Online, with its highly respected and very comprehensive Australian
content, on a pay-as-you-go basis from the 19 February 2001.

Charging will be activity based, with a flat fee of $1.50 per action.
"Actions" include logging on, selecting a database, sending a search
string, merging searches, requesting the emailing of results or similar
activity.

This will correspond to a charge of $10.00 to $16.00 dollars for a typical
search, irrespective of the database. The major benefit for ILANET members
is that you do not have to maintain a subscription to a database you might
use only occasionally.

Informit includes databases such as APAIS (Australian Public Affairs
Information Service),AGIS (Attorney-General's Information Service), IREL
(Australian Industrial Relations Database),AMI (Australasian Medical
Index), CINCH (Australian Criminology Database),FAMILY (Australian Family &

service levels. ILANET is currently redeveloping our ILL system to reflect
these changes. You will be able to easily identify requests as express,
rush,
