The Domain Name Supporting Organisation of ICANN ("DNSO") has called for
nominations for the important positions of Chair and Alternate Chair to the
General Assembly (see below).  This body represents a diverse constituency
including ccTLDs, ISPs and Business.

I have been nominated on a ticket comprising Danny Younger as Chair and myself
as Alternate Chair of the DNSO General Assembly of ICANN.  I see this as an
important opportunity to promote and more inclusive and participative approach.

For those who don't know me I am a Director of auDA (the .au ccTLD) and of my
own company Quad Quality Addressing Pty Ltd.  Of course I was most pleased to
welcome those who attended the Melbourne ICANN convention.

I was very impressed when I met Danny Younger and found him to be a real
"people person" in his approach.  Calm, good-natured and intelligent.  I'd say
that Danny had exactly the qualities needed for the sensitive position of GA
Chair.  Certainly I'd welcome the opportunity to work with him.

I look forward to working with him for the betterment of ICANN and to the
benefit of the voting constituency. Thank you all.

These two calls are in parallel.

Any person member to the DNSO GA may nominate candidates for election
to the Chair of the General Assembly.

Only those who subscribed to the GA voting registry will receive
ballots related to the Election Rules.

If the Election Rules get approved (call no 2), the GA will have a new
ballot to rank the nominated candidates (call no 1) and advise the Names
Council of its preferences.
