Forget privacy on-line when the law allows it.
I just lodged a complaint with the Office of the Federal Privacy
Commissioner against the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, complaining that
CASA are exceeding the Privacy Act by releasing my personal details about
my aircraft registration on the Internet in the form of a downloadable
.csv file.
OFPC determined that CASA regulations require them to make the aircraft
register publically available subject to whatever conditions they care to
impose.
I have the correspondence on a restricted access web site. Email me off
list if you want the access detail.
