[LINK] porn via email illegal?

Afternoon Linkers,

I've been having a discussion with friends since they mentioned that one of 
their co-workers has been stood down for sending porn via the internal 
email. Then they said that it's "against the law" to send porn via email.

Now, I can understand that corporate organisations may have standards that 
would disallow such things (and fair enough too), but I can't recall any 
law that bans sending this type of material via email (apart from the 
obvious material that is already declared illegal, such as child porn etc.)

I searched both Google and AUSTLII, and drew a blank.

Does anyone have any more info on this? Sound like hot air to me - even 
this government wouldn't try passing a law that prohibits sending something 
via email that you can send via the post - would they?
