Which would explain why the most-used applications are
e-mail and word processing?
The same reasoning allows the claim that cars are physics
machines, yet the best drivers would be pushed to state
all the laws of Newtonian movement or of thermodynamics.
I think a better argument is that the command line of the
computer has the same role as the socket set of the mechanic;
and I totally understand people that want to use a computer
or a car without recourse to the command line or the toolbox.
