E-commerce: Protecting the consumer
Presented by Dr. David Cousins, Commissioner, ACCC
Our presenter will discuss what ACCC has done and plans to do to protect the
consumer interest in online transactions. He will cover topics such as scams
and other fair trading issues on the Internet.
Dr. David Cousins is a Commissioner with the Australian Competition and
Consumer Commission. He has special responsibility for e-commerce from the
perspective of competition and consumer interests. He was appointed
Commissioner in July 1999. Before this he was a Director with KPMG
Management Consultants. He was previously Chairman of the Prices
Surveillance Authority from 1992-1995.
