This reminded me of a caller to local radio yesterday. The focus of the
discussion was unrequested porn mail. Jon Faine received a very blue one
this week and raised the subject. One caller described her experience in
trying to get help from her service provider when she was getting spam
mail. She complained etc and was told nothing could be done. She then
changed her address with the same provider. Problem continued. She ended
up biting the bullet and changing providers. When she pressed the provider
on the issue, she was told that because she hadn't opted out at the
beginning of her account, her address had been on-sold. She said she
hadn't been asked about opting out of anything.
Jon asked her: who is the provider who onsold the info and didn't tell you
about it?
Woman: Telstra.
