>Good grief! This fills me with dread. Now we get the youth market with Ps
>or Ls typing SMS while driving down the road? Give me strength, lord....
They can't drive as it is!
>Can we get a public safety organisation interested in the effects of this
>sort of thing and have it stopped? VicRoads and other state traffic
But if you cut down on road accidents and deaths fro people using mobile
phones, Insurance premiums would have to decrease (cough) and the Rescue
services could be down sized.
Think of all the lost jobs. Doctors, nurses, Ambulance, Tow Truck Drivers,
Smash repairs, new car dealers, funeral services, churches, florists,
(ikky) Grave Yards ...
Doesn't reality really hit home when you look at the morbid fact?
I mean, why not make Alcohol illegal and stop it being sold PERIOD. Then
the Government wouldn't need to spend millions a year on new RBT gear,
Police 10-20 strong on the side of the road pulling people over and testing
them. Not to mention the lost productivity of 15 minutes waiting in an RBT
queue (I kid you not!)
But the reality is, people will buy it, GST is paid, Excise is paid,
Company tax is paid, employee wages are paid, hotel rents and licences are
And so it goes on.
I don't drink, I find it a disgusting habit. Sorry to those who like to
get totally pissed and paralytic, but I got sick of saving lives in the 80's.
>Just looked up TAC and sent a message to them: mailto:email@example.com
>asking them to look into it from a safety perspective. If this doesn't
>get attention, I may send to VicHealth.
Feel free to forward my comments. As weird as they may be, they do realte.
