Well, here's what's happening with ZDNET.  As suspected, they didn't
unsubscribe me.  They just added an intrusive login box that pops up when
their html page email loads.  I guess they want to be irritating as well as
'exclusive'.

I just got further into my email list.  They sent out an apology and
described it as a technical error, that we shouldn't have received the
newsletter with that popup.
