Presenter: Privacy Commissioner Paul Chadwick,
Office of the Victorian Privacy Commissioner

Commissioner Chadwick will present and focus on the following issues:

*	As technology changes, privacy endures;
*	The privacy enhancing potential of technology;
*	Three new privacy schemes for Victorians;

Paul Chadwick took up the appointment as Victoria's first Privacy
Commissioner on 30 July, 2001.  Before his appointment as Privacy
Commissioner, he practised law at the Melbourne firm of Arnold Bloch
Leibler.  For eight years Paul ran the Victorian Communications Law Centre
which specialised in articulating the public interest dimension of media and
communications law and policy.  In the 1970s he trained as a journalist at
the Herald and Weekly Times and received the Walkley Award for Most
Outstanding Contribution of Journalism.
