Interesting story about a program in the US to train what they are calling
the Cybercorps to address computer
security.
http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/industry/03/31/cyber.corps.ap/index.html

It's primarily a scholarship program to support students to train in the
area and then agree to 2 years work in the field after graduation. Only a
few universities are accredited for the program.

One question I had was about an assumption in the story that no one already
does this stuff to some extent. It may not be enough people or strong
enough security, but I don't think it's really a zero start. But it was
interesting that they were finding it difficult to find professors for the
program, which may be due to the higher salaries they can command in the
private sector, an ongoing problem in computer science generally.
