Sam Hinton wrote concerning the use of the term 'web supported' in a
publication from the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science
and Training:
<<in the interests of accuracy, I do think that they need to
<< clarify what they mean by 'web supported'
The source of the data referred to in Sam's email was a paper reporting
the results of a sector wide survey. See
http://www.dest.gov.au/highered/occpaper/02a/02_a.pdf. The definitions
section of the paper explains the meaning of 'web supported' in some
detail. The definitions were arrived at through a process of
consultation with the sector.
The document Sam referenced is produced as part of the Department's
reporting processes. It contains, we hope, accurate information but
does not attempt proper footnoting and identification of sources.
