Email spoofing

Some variants of this worm use a technique known as "spoofing=2E" If it do=
es this, it chooses at random an address that it finds on an infected comp=
uter as the "From:" address that it uses when it performs its mass-mailing=
 routine=2E Numerous cases have been reported in which users of uninfected=
 computers receive complaints that they have sent an infected message to s=
omeone else=2E

For example, Linda Anderson is using a computer that is infected with W32=2E=
Klez=2EE@mm; Linda is not using a antivirus program or does not have curre=
nt virus definitions=2E When W32=2EKlez=2Egen@mm performs its emailing rou=
tine, it finds the email address of Harold Logan=2E It inserts Harold's em=
ail address into the "From:" line of an infected email that it then sends =
to Janet Bishop=2E Janet then contacts Harold and complains that he sent h=
er infected email, but when Harold scans his computer, Norton AntiVirus do=
