IMMEDIATE RELEASE
World Premier of "Something About AJ" [PG]
Sydney, 11 October 2002:- Todd Corporation and Iconoclast Productions are
pleased to announce that the World Premier of the controversial Australian
[PG] feature film "Something About AJ" will be held on 27 October 2002 at
the Auburn Town Hall, in Auburn Sydney.
FREE tickets are available to the public to help celebrate this special
event. Sponsored by Todd Corporation, Sound on Stage and Auburn Council
the screening follows the controversial withdraw of support by Auburn
Council from the Auburn International Film Festival on 24 September during
the screening of "Something About AJ" [PG] over a classification exemption
misunderstanding.
"What happened is past," says Adam Todd the Producer and Director of the
film that tells a true story about the NSW Police and Department of
Community Services who raid an Australian family in 1998.
The most controversial part of the 120 minute feature film is the 8 minutes
of real video recorded in 1998 when NSW Police and the Department of
Community Services raided the home and literally tore a 5 month old baby
boy from his mothers arms.
"Council has shown tremendous support by agreeing to provide their venue
for the screening which we've now decided is our World Premier!" explained
an excited Todd.
"Thanks to support from Sound on Stage who are assisting with a Projector
and Sound system, we decided to offer tickets FREE to the public! Limited
seating means competition for seats will be fast so we encourage people to
call and book quickly," says Todd.
Doors open at 6:30 PM on 27 October at the Auburn Civic Centre but seat
reservations are essential. Call 1300 73 FILM. Updated details can be
found at http://somethingaboutaj.inoz.com/
