A proposal to use telephone numbers as a single contact point for 
electronic communications runs the risk of increasing spam and 
"slamming" of customers, an Australian Communications Authority 
discussion paper has warned.

The ACA's discussion paper says that if the ENUM database - much like 
an Internet address registry - is not set up properly, there may be 
privacy risks. ...

The ACA is inviting interested groups to join a discussion group to 
help steer ENUM trials, and is taking comment on the discussion paper 
until November 11.
