The documentation for the rules about what to do with moderated
postings or posting for non members say -
-------------
Privacy options -sender filters
When a message is posted to the list, a series of moderation steps
are take to decide whether the a moderator must first approve the
message or not. This section contains the controls for moderation of
both member and non-member postings.
Member postings are held for moderation if their moderation flag is
turned on. You can control whether member postings are moderated by
default or not.
Non-member postings can be automatically accepted, held for
moderation, rejected (bounced), or discarded, either individually or
as a group. Any posting from a non-member who is not explicitly
accepted, rejected, or discarded, will have their posting filtered by
the general non-member rules.
----------------
At this stage I don't intend to moderate members postings so that is
moot. Non-members posting are another matter. At the moment I have it
set to bounce ALL non member postings. However that is not desirable
when we go live (see below).
I can set up lists of domains for the four options - moderation,
rejected (bounced), or discarded - so that matching addresses will
get routed appropriately. Initially I won't do this.
When we go live I will first set this so ALL non-member messages get
moderated. There is a good reason for this. Many link members are
subscribed under an old address which points to their active one.
They are NOT posting from the address that are subscribed under. It
would not do for all their mail to link to bounce!
I will then be able to tell people to fix their address or take
appropriate action. eg setting most categories of .au address to go
to the list automatically, all .kr addresses to bounce etc.
The idea would be to evolve to a tolerable situation which will
probably take a bit of playing by ear.
