...but it seems that the world of free computing is on the endangered list.

And so on ... embedding certs in hardware is so dangerous and invasive, I
can hardly believe it's been let pass without more comment. There is
absolutely no cause for VeriSign to know anything at all about any consumer,
without an explicit consent by that consumer.
