This is worse, Ann: 5 years ago, Intel wanted to provide a processor ID
number. This time, it's a Verisign certificate - in others words, just
starting your PC would demand the goodwill of two organisations; neither of
them able to claim a legitimate right to invade user privacy after purchase.
