For $4M. So let's do the sums. $4M for the site of 5000 pages is, oh,
$800 per page. Since it's possible to get a uni graduate who knows
how to push objects around in Dreamweaver for $45 an hour, that means
we could have these students spend 17+ hours on each and every page
to build the whole site manually.
Yeah yeah, recruitment and management overheads... the need for a
higher-paid person to do the initial design *coughs*... project
management... so maybe your entry level code cutters only get 8 hours
to do each page.
But that does put the sheer scale of the incompetence into perspective,
no? :)
I assume that the contractors responsible are being sued for
incompetence and the people who managed the project under
investigation for potential fraud? No? Oh gosh there's a surprise.
