They are claiming that their ads have been censored online,

<http://english.aljazeera.net/topics/article.asp?cu_no=1&item_no=1117&version=1&template_id=279&parent_id=258>

  "AOL, Yahoo and Reuters have all refused to run advertisements for
   Al-Jazeera's new, English-language service citing different reasons.
   Yahoo put the decision down to 'war-related sensitivity', Reuters ruled
   the decision out on the grounds that Al-Jazeera is a competitor, while
   AOL offered no reason."

I searched the Yahoo news for aljazeera and this interesting nugget popped
up:

<http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030402/ap_on_hi_te/war_al_jazeera_web_6>

  "It is funded by Qatar's government but is an unusually independent
   voice in the Arab world."

So, Yahoo are reporting (via AP) that AJ are 'unusually independent', yet
allegedly won't publish their ads. Interestingly, AJ is listed in the
Yahoo directory
