This has been a fascinating debate.  I feel like a ping pong ball going 
back and forth, or watching a tennis match from the side of the court.

If there is going to be something added to the one item that they asked to 
be amended, similar to adding a copyright notice perhaps?, then the 
language should not be that Tony or Link is doing this off our own 
bat.  Rather it should be something like:

At the request of the SESAHS of the NSW Government,
the Link manager is advising readers of this historical
post to Link from 2000 that the SESAHS no longer at time
of this amendment [insert date added] provides access
to any? some? most?
of these newsgroups and "...have no connection to child
pornography."  Any comments or questions about this
should be directed to:  [email address of SESAHS rep.]
