Unfortunately, it is not necessarily as good as it sounds - at least in the
short term...
The email that was sent to me stated:

A read through their info page on the change reveals:

Changing over to using the bigpond mail server is not shouldn't cause
problems, but for many of their customers it won't actually be necessary,
even after 13 April...
