Hi,
thought the petition call below from Linux Australia might be of some
interest to LINK members.
The FTA has some ugly implications for our IP freedoms, the time to get
involved & make a difference is now.
It's interesting the ipact of the IP provisions on our local software
industry as well as home users, educational institutions etc hasn't got
more of a run in the general media.
The implications are far-reaching and from everything I've read so far
are mostly detrimental to our interests.
Regards Anthony.

Hi all!
Most of you probably don't know much about the US Free Trade
agreement's Intellectual Property chapter. Unfortunately, it contains
much we Free/Open Source people should fear, much along the lines of the
recent US experiences.
Linux Australia have an information an "how to help" page:
http://linux.org.au/fta
Especially easy and important is signing the petition:

Thankyou,
Rusty.
