Ctrl + Click opens a link in new tab. Hence, Ctrl + Click Click Click
Click opens a bunch of links for perusal.
Ctrl + Enter opens typed location or the google search panel search in
a new tab.
Ctrl + Tab, Ctrl+Shift+Tab Cycle through your open tabs.
Also, groups of bookmarks can be opened as a set of tabs makes opening
standard sets of links a breeze.
For total control of the tab world, I use "tabbrowser extensions."
This allows you great control of how tabs/links/etc behave. That said,
I'd get the feel of the standard features first; they do most of what
you want..
There's a somewhat bewildering array of extensions for Firefox, that
you can look at down the track. I find DictionarySearch useful.
