There is no Tsunami warnings for the Pacific Ocean or South East Asia, from
what I was told recently in discussions about this issue.
Apparently the view was that the most significant event would be similar to
the PNG event of 1996(?) and hence in most cases fatalities and injuries
woudl be minimal.
I've always wondered why on a plate that has no real faults across it's
land mass, surrounded by movement at only hundreds of K's from land, we're
not concerned about large quakes and ocean drops.
Hmmm.
As someone said to me today, watch out Wollongong.
It's not likley to happen, but it might happen.
